3 frame layout gone again

February 24th, 2003

Back to two frames and the grey box as an element of the main frame. The scrollbar in the middle of my page was too much of a shock to my sensibilities. Like Lis, I am a delicate flower.

Damn, this sucks

February 24th, 2003

And now I have a scrollbar between the main frame and the right side frame. Which I should have expected, but somehow forgot would happen. Dumb. I should have just not decided to muck with this when staying up this late.

OK, this is pissing me off

February 24th, 2003

I can’t get the side panel to work properly. I hate CSS. Well, sort of hate CSS. Mostly I hate it. In some browsers, the Calerndar and Archive sections behave themselves: the Archives show up underneath the Calendar. But in IE, and the latest version of Opera, the Archives show up next to and intruding [...]

This is just goofy

This is pretty boggling. Entrepreneurship at its finest, no doubt.

Harry’s Laws of Turning Left

February 19th, 2003

“IF you are moving and approach a light that is red, AND a left turn lane is N cars long, THEN there will be N+1 cars ahead of you, in the lane to move straight forward, preventing you from getting into the left turn lane.” and “IF you are already at a light that is [...]

Movable Type 2.6

February 14th, 2003

The Trotts have once again graced the world with a new version of MT. I’ve upgraded the Factory with this latest incarnation, and hopefully it has all gone smoothly and I haven’t wrecked anything. Once upon a time, long ago, I wiped out my old web site: bam, I overwrote the files accidentally by copying [...]

How cool is Mona? Cooler than you, that’s how cool.

February 14th, 2003

So Yatsze tells me that Mona went through my CDs. “How many did she destroy?” I sighed. I’m used to this: you get to be a parent, and one of the things that no one really tells you is that everything you own, you either have to put it out of reach or it is [...]

Life

February 12th, 2003

So I just got done dumping a lot of digital video to my iBook, in preparation for burning a few VCDs. There is video that has been sitting on the camera for perhaps a year, as well as video shot just this past Christmas, and video of me on my last visit to Seattle. My [...]

So what’s the root of snobbery?

February 9th, 2003

It’s when you get irritated that Miss Lis blows the secret about Defective Yeti to the world, when it’s one of your secret sites that you don’t want overexposed. How much of a jerk does that make me? Kind of like how you want a favorite band to be successful, but not too successful, because [...]

OK, I like this

February 9th, 2003

So sue me, but I think it’s funny.
