something is either very right or very wrong with this

There exists a watch that sells for $1.5m. Like, a new watch, not an antique. But wow, what a watch. It says good things about humanity that it can make such a thing. It likely says pretty terrible things about the person that buys it.

That is a gorgeously convoluted device. Pretty fine website, too. But yes, who will buy one?

Hey, if it keeps the lo cal Geneva economy afloat I’m all for it. Not that I can afford to buy one.
$1.5 million is a lot of money for a watch but your average Patek Phillipe goes for something in the mid 5 figures and all the ‘midrange’ luxury watches have comparable prices. And, according to my friend who is treasurer of the Richemond Group that owns Vacheron Constatin, business is pretty damn good these days.
The rich are different from you and me.
